The BBC’s corporate charity Children in Need wanted to gather evidence to help identify the areas of greatest need to inform their funding decisions.
We carried out desk research to show the benefits of play for child development; identify the state of play and play policies in the UK; explore the barriers to play; and find examples of existing play initiatives.
The research informed Asda’s Power of Play campaign, directed funding towards vital playwork, and led to the development of a play planner for Asda customers.
