ABOUT DR AMANDA GUMMER & FUNDAMENTALLY CHILDREN
Dr Amanda Gummer has spent 25+ years working with gaming platforms, toy manufacturers, ed-tech companies, and digital product creators.
She understands both child development and the realities of building successful products for children. The team at FUNdamentally Children bring a wide range of expertise across children’s sectors – education, play child development, therapy and research and will act as the secretariat for this project bringing together the important output from the Working Groups and Advisory Panels into the Children’s Digital Wellbeing Framework.
The Children’s Digital Wellbeing Accreditation initiative is a truly collaborative effort, btinging together Amanda and her team’s expertise with Innovate UK funding and, most importantly, collaborative industry knowledge.

The Children’s Digital Wellbeing Accreditation is a new, industry-led programme recognising digital products, platforms, and services that meet robust standards for children’s wellbeing. It is developed in collaboration with sector experts and aims to help families, educators, and industry identify safe, ethical, and beneficial digital experiences for children.
Any organisation, company, or developer creating digital products, services, or content for children (up to age 16) is welcome to apply. This includes apps, games, streaming services, platforms, connected toys, and more.

Joining the pilot allows your organisation to be among the first to be evaluated against the new Digital Wellbeing standards. By paying the £950 ($1,330 USD) pilot fee, you secure a dedicated review slot, gain early access to our expert guidance, and receive a founding-phase rate that is lower than the eventual full-market accreditation cost.
Participation in the pilot phase is currently set at a flat fee of £950 ($1,330 USD). This fee covers the full pilot evaluation process, including early access to the framework, expert feedback, and—upon successful completion—your official Founding Member Accreditation.
By joining now, you secure an exclusive pilot-phase rate. Final commercial pricing for the full industry launch will be confirmed following this pilot period and extensive industry consultation. Our ongoing mission is to ensure that accreditation remains accessible and impactful for organisations of all sizes.
Applicants will need to show that their product or service meets the standards in the Children’s Digital Wellbeing Framework. This may include providing evidence of features, content, policies, and organisational practices. Guidance will be provided as the framework is finalised.
Yes. The pilot phase is open to multiple products or brands within your portfolio. To ensure each one receives a comprehensive, individual expert review against the framework, a pilot fee of £950 ($1,330 USD) is required for each product submitted.
Yes. We are building a truly global standard, and organisations worldwide are encouraged to join the Pilot Phase. Our framework is designed to be applicable across different regions, ensuring a high standard of digital wellbeing for children everywhere.
The pilot fee can be paid in GBP (£950) or USD ($1,330) to accommodate our international partners.
There may be an annual fee for ongoing accreditation, especially for platform or studio-level accreditations. Details will be confirmed as the programme develops.
