Our Process

The
problem

The BBC wanted to showcase the positive impact of quality children’s television as part of their “It’s What’s On The Screen That Counts” campaign. They aimed to emphasise how engaging, educational programming can support child development, foster creativity, and promote key social and emotional skills. By highlighting these benefits, the campaign sought to raise awareness among parents and educators, positioning the BBC as a leader in delivering meaningful, age-appropriate content that both entertains and enriches young audiences.

The
Solution

We provided parents with tips for managing screen time on the CBeebies website, offering practical advice to support healthy media habits. Dr Amanda Gummer also conducted a series of media interviews, including an appearance on Morning Live where she discussed the benefits of quality children’s programming. Additionally, Amanda shared expert advice on popular platforms such as Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum, Happy Baby, engaging with influential parenting audiences to further promote the campaign’s message.

The
Result

The campaign successfully reached millions of parents, providing them with practical tips and expert advice to support informed decisions about their children’s screen time. By engaging with trusted platforms like CBeebies and popular parenting influencers, the initiative helped families feel empowered to make positive, confident choices regarding their young children’s viewing habits. The BBC’s focus on highlighting the benefits of quality children’s television helped reinforce the importance of educational content, encouraging a balanced approach to media consumption that prioritises both learning and enjoyment for children.
Having Dr Gummer provide her expertise in the media, including on BBC's flagship programme, 'Morning Live' helped us get the important messages of the campaign out to the public. We had lots of positive reactions to the campaign and are looking forward to continuing to work with Dr Gummer as the campaign enters its next phase.
