Our Process

The
problem

Dettol aimed to develop a global online learning platform to enhance children’s personal hygiene education. The goal was to create engaging, accessible content that could be used by educators and parents worldwide to instill essential hygiene practices in young children. By focusing on interactive and age-appropriate materials, the platform was designed to empower children to understand and maintain good hygiene habits, ultimately contributing to healthier communities globally. The initiative reflects Dettol’s commitment to public health education, reinforcing its brand’s role in promoting safe and healthy lifestyles from an early age.

The
Solution

Dettol was uncertain about the creative style and direction for their global online learning platform. To address this, we conducted a series of play-based co-creation workshops, engaging children directly in the development process. These sessions helped refine existing concepts and provided strategic guidance on what would resonate with children, keeping them engaged while enhancing their learning experience. Through creative activities and informal discussions, the children shared their preferences and dislikes from other online platforms, offering valuable insights that shaped the final direction of the platform, ensuring it was both educational and appealing to the target audience.

The
Result

The feedback gathered from our workshops was shared with the development team at Preloaded, who used it to shape and refine the platform. As a result, Hygiene Quest was developed, incorporating the insights and preferences of the children who participated. The platform has since become a significant success, with over 1.2 million children now benefiting from its engaging and educational content, learning vital personal hygiene skills in an interactive and enjoyable way. This collaboration highlights the importance of user-driven design in creating impactful educational tools.
Thank you so much for all your invaluable help with the Dettol Hygiene project. The pilots went well and the program is now being rolled out to 5 more markets this year with the goal of 20 countries next year.
