Our Process

The
problem

Plane Characters, the creators of the Pilot Ollie and Pilot Polly books, sought to gather feedback on their pilot episode and accompanying app, both inspired by the popular books. Their goal was to assess how well these new digital offerings resonated with their target audience and to determine their effectiveness in engaging users. By collecting insights from early viewers and app users, Plane Characters aimed to refine their content, enhance user experience, and ensure that the pilot episode and app effectively capture the essence of the beloved books while meeting audience expectations and preferences.

The
Solution

We conducted an in-home testing of the pilot episode and app inspired by the Pilot Ollie and Pilot Polly books, closely observing user interactions and experiences. Following this, we gathered detailed feedback from parents via a WhatsApp focus group. This method allowed us to collect real-time, qualitative insights into how the content resonated with families and how effectively the app and episode engaged children. The feedback provided valuable information on user satisfaction, areas for improvement, and overall effectiveness, enabling Plane Characters to refine their offerings and better align them with the needs and expectations of their target audience.

Result

We provided a detailed analysis of parent feedback, highlighting key aspects of the show that were particularly well-received. This analysis included specific elements that resonated with viewers, such as engaging content and effective educational value. By showcasing these positive attributes, we supported the client’s investment pitches and marketing efforts, offering compelling evidence of the show’s appeal and potential success. This insight was crucial in demonstrating the value of the show to potential investors and stakeholders, reinforcing its marketability and enhancing the client’s ability to secure funding and promote the show effectively.
